SURPRISE! ANTI-SOCIALIST WARMONGER WINSTON CHURCHILL WAS A COLOSSAL TAX DODGER

Winston Churchill was the British monarchy's man in Parliament.

He engineered the 1912 naval agreement between Great Britain and France that he, Grey and Asquith kept secret and which was used to drag Great Britain into WW1.

He is accused of causing a famine in India and of brutality in Ireland.

But according to PJW, Churchill is also an expert on socialism (see @2:37 in this video, which also praises that bitch Thatcher):

But guess what?

CHURCHILL WAS A COLOSSAL TAX DODGER!!

Sir Winston Churchill was a serial tax avoider who exploited loopholes and faked his own retirement in collusion with the chairman of Inland Revenue, his biographer has claimed.

David Lough, a historian and author, said Churchill had learned to use Inland Revenue as a "beast who can be tamed and bent" after finding himself in financial difficulties.

Not only did the politician pretend to retire in order to halve his tax bill, the author claimed, he persuaded the Revenue's young chairman to help him figure out a way to save his earnings for himself.

...The details of Churchill's finances are examined in Lough's book No More Champagne, which is based on National Archives documents declassified in 2004.

They reveal the enormous debts the politician found himself in, including wine, gambling and a Harrods account built up by his wife, as well as the "two thick files" built up by the Inland Revenue dedicated to the Churchill finances.

Lough said Churchill's attitude to tax had begun to change after the First World War, when his earnings as a cabinet minister and author took him into the 50 per cent bracket. In 1924, when he became chancellor of the exchequer, his outstanding tax bills amounted to £400,000 in today's money.

At this point, said Lough, he summoned Revenue chairman, Richard Hopkins, to a private meeting who - far from dismissing him - promised to set his senior advisors on the case.

In a handwritten note sent a week later, he wrote to Churchill to say they had found an "anomaly" which meant that he could retire as an author on the final day of the financial year and treat his earnings a capital receipts, untaxed.
