SO WHO ADVISED EMPEROR FRANZ JOSEF TO SEND THE HEIR TO HIS THRONE FRANZ FERDINAND TO VISIT SARAJEVO ON 28TH JUNE 1914?

Emperor Franz Josef ordered Arch Duke Ferdinand to attend military exercises in Sarajevo in June 1914 over 6 months before the event.

Giving potential assassins plenty of time to plan the assassination.

And who planned and where was the security?

Over 6 months!

Quick reminder:
1. Austria was scared of Serbia for several reasons, and a faction wanted Serbia taming (through war?);
2. Franz Ferdinand was not liked in Vienna high society and he was not a warmonger;
3. the funerals of Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were a non-event, indicating that the Vienna hierarchy were quite happy that Ferdinand and his wife were dead;
4. but Vienna still issued Serbia the most outrageous demands after the assassination of Franz Ferdinand which were viewed by many, including Sir Edward Grey, as demanding that Serbia become a colony of Austria! This was also seen as an attempt by Vienna to provoke Serbia into rejecting the demands thus giving Austria the pretext for war on Serbia.
