WHAT DID NATO PROMISE RUSSIA ABOUT NATO EXPANSION?

"Not one inch east of the Elbe", is the famous quote.

NATO now denies this was said.

But NATO said a lot more to Russia about NATO expansion, which basically consisted of, "We promise we're not expanding east, so grab an ice cold Budweiser and chilllax."

That was in 1990/1.

Since then NATO has crept ever more eastward, devouring Poland and many other former Soviet bloc states, so we now see a de facto proxy war between NATO and Russia in Ukraine after Zelensky reneged on his promise to implement the Minsk II Agreement in return for NATO membership for Ukraine.

So NATO reneged on their promise, and Zelensky reneged on his promise, resulting in fuel and food crisis and possible nuclear WW3.
