A few paragraphs from the State of the Union Speech of January 31st 2006.
The same is true of Iran, a nation now held hostage by a small clerical elite that is isolating and repressing its people. The regime in that country sponsors terrorists in the Palestinian territories and in Lebanon -- and that must come to an end.
Let's turn this around and look at the USA.
The same is true of Iran [USA], a nation now held hostage by a small clerical[small East Coast banking and oiligarchical] elite that is isolating and repressing its people [with the Patriot Act, surveillance, harrassment]. The regime [East Coast banking and oiligarchical elite] in that country [USA] sponsors terrorists in the Palestinian territories and in Lebanon [sponsors terrorists across the globe] -- and that must come to an end [Amen to that].
OK, now to the customary reference to 9/11.
It is said that prior to the attacks of September the 11th, our government failed to connect the dots of the conspiracy. We now know that two of the hijackers in the United States placed telephone calls to al Qaeda operatives overseas. But we did not know about their plans until it was too late. So to prevent another attack –- based on authority given to me by the Constitution and by statute -- I have authorized a terrorist surveillance program to aggressively pursue the international communications of suspected al Qaeda operatives and affiliates to and from America. Previous Presidents have used the same constitutional authority I have, and federal courts have approved the use of that authority. Appropriate members of Congress have been kept informed. The terrorist surveillance program has helped prevent terrorist attacks. It remains essential to the security of America. If there are people inside our country who are talking with al Qaeda, we want to know about it, because we will not sit back and wait to be hit again. (Applause.)
We now also know that the WTC towers were brought down via a professional demolition with explosives, as any number of witnesses at Ground Zero testify with photographic evidence too. We now also know that the Project for a New American Century were desperate for "a new Pearl Harbour", an event that would galvanize US public opinion into supporting pre-emptive wars.
And as for freedom and democracy?
Far from being a hopeless dream, the advance of freedom is the great story of our time. In 1945, there were about two dozen lonely democracies in the world. Today, there are 122. And we're writing a new chapter in the story of self-government -- with women lining up to vote in Afghanistan, and millions of Iraqis marking their liberty with purple ink, and men and women from Lebanon to Egypt debating the rights of individuals and the necessity of freedom.
What is the definition of democracy that Bush is using? US democracy means that the US usually has to select a President who is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations, a child of the British Monarchy's Royal Institute of International Affairs. And before the CFR was created in 1921 there was good chance the President was a Freemason, again also controlled by the British Monarchy.
And as for the fledgling democracies of Iraq and Afghanistan. The Taliban was a creature of CIA and Pakistani ISI. Saddam was also a creature of the CIA. Is the CIA creating tyrannies giving it the excuse to invade and impose US-style democracy?
Afghanistan's President is Hamid Karzai. Afghanistan was invaded under the pretext that it was protecting Osama bin Laden and was a home to the terrorists who orchestrated 9/11, not for democracy. Democracy has become the secondary reason since they let bin Laden et al escape. Karzai, a former consultant to Unocal who wanted to build a pipeline across Afghanistan, was appointed leader and is on the periphery of the neoconservatives.
Iraq was invaded under the pretext of WMD and alleged involvement in 9/11, not for democracy. Democracy has become the secondary reason since, unsurprisingly, no WMDs have been found. In fact Blair said in Parliament that Saddam could stay in power if he gave up his WMDs! And Saddam was sold any WMD he may have had by the West! And inspections revealed he had no stockpiles of any significance - out of date, rusty, useless stuff. And why did Bush I leave Saddam in power in 1991 and help destroy his internal enemy by inciting them to rebel against Saddam and then leave the rebels out to dry i.e. get massacred? Now contracts are being drawn up that give Western oil corps massive profits taking Iraqi wealth out of Iraq, decades after the USA and UK bombed Iraq into the stone age during the 1990's under the pretence of protecting a no-fly zone, and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in the process while CIA agent Saddam sat in an extremely well protected Palace surrounded by fine furniture etc. And who is sharking around in the Iraqi government? Ahmed Chalabi, the source for a number of scare stories regarding Iraq's invisible WMDs. Chalabi was head of the Iraqi National Congress, based in London and receiving substantial British and American support. Chalabi was briefly in charge of Iraqi oil.
And as for America's "democratic" ally, Isarel? Israel is an apartheid state.
What a joke!
Thanks for your analysis.
ReplyDelete"George W Bush is world's greatest comedian" - unfortunately the 'jokes' aren't funny.
S
Thankyou.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should have finished with "Israel is an apartheid state created through terrorism and accepting terrorists as its leaders".
