So many of us believe a Gulf of Tonkin-type event is scheduled in the Strait of Hormuz, to give pretext for war on Iran. Something is going to happen this year. Bush and Cheney have gone too far, done too much, to ever leave power.
But we'll know...

Tensions between the US and Iran resurfaced today when Pentagon officials alleged that Iranian warships threatened three US Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
The alleged incident comes after a period of relative calm in relations between the two countries and ahead of a rare visit to Iran by Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
According to Pentagon officials, US forces were about to fire at the boats, thought to be from the Revolutionary Guard, when the Iranians turned away at the last moment.
