It seems that The Daily Mail at least has suspicions that the UEA CRU was hacked by Russia. Whether a Russian intelligence service or two was involved is up for debate, but I would not be surprised if they were. But it could just as easily have been some geeky teenage Russian patriots up for a laugh...
That a week or two later after the release of the climategate data on a Russian website a Russian train was blown up on the mainline between Moscow and St Petersburg by a Islamic terrorist (and we know who runs them) should tell you that perhaps it's not going so well for some.

Suspicions were growing last night that Russian security services were behind the leaking of the notorious British ‘Climategate’ emails which threaten to undermine tomorrow’s Copenhagen global warming summit.
An investigation by The Mail on Sunday has discovered that the explosive hacked emails from the University of East Anglia were leaked via a small web server in the formerly closed city of Tomsk in Siberia.
