IN THE SPRING A YOUNG MAN'S FANCY LIGHTLY TURNS TO THOUGHTS OF BLOODY WAR AND GROUND INVASIONS

"In the Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love."

So wrote Alfred Lord Tennyson, in Locksley Hall.

In this poem he also foresaw a "Parliament of man, the Federation of the world", i.e. a democratic world government.

But then again, Tennyson also wrote The Charge of the Light Brigade, in which he praises the British Imperialism that was the Crimean War.

The bloody fool!

There will be no democratic world government of free humans. Only a world tyranny over a billion slaves.
