We can now see the brilliance of the plan proposed by the US DIA in 2012 to facilitate the rise of a Salafist entity in Syria to isolate President Bashar al-Assad.
The USA and Turkey are openly discussing how to implement a whatever zone in Syria.
Imagine the outcry if Russia and China began to openly discuss a whatever zone in Nepal? Or Burma?
But because this whatever zone is allegedly being created to defeat Islamic State, nobody, not even Assad, can complain.
And yet even the USA and Turkey, if media reports are to be believed, do not yet know precisely what these whatever zones will be for, or who will control them.
So what is Syria supposed to do?
What if these whatever zones are not safe zones protecting refugees, but are training camps for Syrian rebels with full air protection?
