THOUGHT FOR T'DAY ON IMMIGRATION

America is a nation of immigrants.

Some were forced immigrants, dragged over from Africa through the Middle Passage, and if they survived were to endure a lifetime in brutal servitude, that was legal and initially codified in the Constitution of the United States.

Others went to the USA in search of a new life, a promised land, and in doing so slaughtered the native Americans in their relentless expansion west. Heroes of the US Civil War, Grant and Sherman, finished off what racist, scumbag traitor Andrew Jackson started through the Trail of Tears, and either forced or tricked native Americans into reservations of ever decreasing size and resources, hundreds of miles from their ancestral grounds.

America is a nation of immigrants.

So how can Americans, or those who support the idea of America, complain about immigration?
