SCRIPTURAL RESEARCHES ON THE LICITNESS OF THE SLAVE TRADE

Just came across this book/pamphlet written by Reverend Raymond Harris (who was actually a Jesuit called Raimondo Hormoza) entitled Scriptural Researches on the Licitness of the Slave Trade. When the abolition movement in England was growing, Liverpool Town Council paid Harris £100 to write an argument in favour of slavery. Harris wrote that pamphlet.

And what a load of bollocks it is, citing several scriptures that promote and defend slavery.

Liverpool.

Built on slavery.

But while there are at least 2 major museums dedicated to The Beatles, and many tours and minor museums, there is just one museum on the slave trade covering just one floor of a warehouse on Albert Dock.
