If a peeping tom installed a surveillance device in your bedroom then, besides being really, really creepy and watching you undress, what information could they gather?
They could watch you type in your passwords for your email accounts, and thus hack into your emails.
They could watch you type in your bank details when you login into your bank account.
They could listen to you as you talk to yourself, and use any ideas that are spoken out loud during that thinking process.
These are just some of the information that a peeping tom could gather and use for their gain.
