A mark of their different worldviews, and conceivably of the grip that McCarthyism gained on the feelings of America, was that while Herbert was battling McCarthy throughout this period, Bobbie Lehman had no difficulty staying good friends with the Cohns. He continued to do so in the years ahead.

Not bad for the alleged anti-establishment outsiders the Cohns.
