In 1989 the richest 10% of US families owned 20 trillion dollars but in 2013 that had nearly trebled to 51 trillion dollars.
During the same time the poorest 1% of US families saw any gain made under Clinton and W lost during the financial crisis of 2007/8 that was enabled by purchaser of democracy and regular Infowhores guest Roger Stone.
As I said, apparently we've never had it so good.
