It was Comey who torpedoed Clinton with allegations of suspicious emails which turned out not to be suspicious.
And Trump recognised what Comey did for him: he kept Comey on as FBI Chief but fired him when Comey wouldn't swear personal loyalty to Trump; and Trump blew Comey a kiss live on TV!
