WHO WAS ERSKINE CHILDERS : BRITISH IMPERIALIST EXECUTED BY THE BRITISH OVER IRELAND

Hmm.

Erskine Childers was a Cambridge-educated member of the British elite. He wrote The Riddle of the Sands as a warning to the empire that Great Britain was vulnerable to an attack from an increasingly powerful German navy.

But just before WW1 started he was running guns from Germany to Ireland which helped the 1916 Easter Uprising!!

He apparently believed in Irish independence so much that he fought for Irish independence and was on the team of Michael Collins who agreed the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921, and was executed by the British on 24th November 1922 for the possession of a minor firearm because he didn't agree with the terms of that treaty.

There's a film in there somewhere (but don't expect me to write it only for some fake Irish nationalists to hack my computer, copy it, and claim that they wrote it!)
