On 6th February 1958 the team of Manchester United was virtually wiped out when the plane they were flying in crashed at Munich-Riem Airport.

In 1992 a group of young footballers began to form the backbone of the successful Manchester United team for the rest of the 1990s, ending with MUFC winning the treble in 1999.
