MADONNA GOES A BIT ROGUE IN TEL AVIV

I held back on Madonna playing at the Eurovision Song Contest. Bobby Gillespie didn't.

Her show last night was not quite what some, like Gareth Icke, expected.

Here's his tweet as her show began:

Note it's the T word and not the C word.

But later in the show:
In her much-anticipated and politically contentious performance at Eurovision in Israel, Madonna made an apparent call for peace in the region.

As she and guest star Quavo sang the lyrics “Not everyone is coming to the future / Not everyone is learning from the past”, a pair of her dancers – one wearing a costume bearing a Palestinian flag, another with an Israeli flag – embraced as they climbed a set of stairs at the climax of the performance.

And the organisers have since stated that they were not aware of this Palestine-Israel flag message.

So Madonna went a bit rogue last night in Tel Aviv.

And so far Garth Icke hasn't called her a C word yet. Which is nice.
