WAS WORLD WAR ONE INEVITABLE?

Margaret MacMillan doesn't think so. She calls the circumstances in the summer of 1914 a "perfect storm". She also refers to Lloyd George (who effectively took Great Britain into WW1 by breaking the deadlock in the cabinet and refused peace offers while he was PM during the war) without mentioning that she is the great granddaughter of Lloyd George.

MacMillan can go on and on and on about how Austria wanted war with Serbia, that the German High Command wanted war with Russia while Germany could defeat Russia, that France wanted revenge, etc, etc, etc.

The facts are these:
1. Great Britain was in danger of quickly losing its status as the global superpower of the day as Europe, Russia and the USA were quickly catching up through modernised economies;
2. Great Britain had created The Balkan Committee to destabilise the Balkans;
3. the assassin of Arch Duke Ferdinand was a member of one the nationalist organisations under the control of The Balkan Committee;
4. in previous crises Germany had backed down from war after Great Britain had made its position clear that Britain would go to war;
5. as the global superpower of the day, Great Britain feigned neutrality, which encouraged Russia and Germany to mobilise;
6. King George V had told the brother of Kaiser Wilhelm II that Great Britain would not join any war;
7. but as soon as Germany invaded Belgium King George V ordered Sir Edward Grey to join the war.

Shortly after the war began Great Britain began proposing a world government.

During the war Great Britain refused all peace offers and made no peace offers. But Great Britain did agree with the Zionists to keep the war going so that the Zionists, in return for Palestine, could get the USA into the war on the side of Great Britain. The USA joined the war on the side of Great Britain in April 1917. In November 1917 Great Britain issued the Balfour Declaration.

After the war there was the first attempt at world government, The League of Nations, but that failed because the USA refused to join.

And Great Britain was given the mandate for Palestine and encouraged mass Jewish immigration to Palestine.

The Zionists also created and then collaborated with the Nazis to scare and transfer German Jews to Palestine.
