I've often wondered if something like this could work. It's the same idea as in The Office Series One when Chris Finch launches Tim's shoe over the hotel roof after a boozy quiz.
But look what it's going to be used for: launching satellites for space-based broadband.
The method is ten times cheaper than using rockets and uses a fraction of the fuel.
