And the deep state didn't want that because at that time they were planning and organising 9/11, so the last thing they wanted was the world's most influential woman, the mother of the future kings of England, married to a successful, high-profile Muslim. Their marriage could cause problems regarding the global public perception of Islam, and provoke many awkward questions about whether Muslims could actually organise and execute such an elaborate plan leading to devastating wars on themselves (clue : they didn't.)
