NATO bombed Libya and Syria to defend their "freedom fighters" who were actually cutthroat Jihadis like Islamic State. That military action was called R2P (responsibility to protect).
Russia invaded Ukraine after NATO persuaded/bribed Zelensky to renege on his promise to implement Minsk II. Zelensky instead called for the ethnic cleansing of Russians from Ukraine. So Russia invaded in a R2P Russians in Ukraine.
Yesterday a meeting was held between world leaders where each commited to defend Ukraine.
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia was called "Russia's war of choice".
This war started in 2014 when NATO ran a coup in Maidan Square, killing dozens and installing a neo-Nazi junta which began to persecute Russians in east Ukraine.
