Slowly but surely the truth will out.
It was NOT incompetence. Israel received warnings and alerts from neighbours and allies. There was even a high level intel meeting of Israeli officials on the 6th to discuss the attack on the 7th! This is why the survivors of the rave are taking Israel to court over Israel's failure to protect them.
Here the BBC interviews several women in the Israeli Army who sat on the border with The Gaza Strip, whose one job was to watch the border. Watch, and watch, and observe. If they saw anything unusual they reported it. And for several months before 7th October they saw very unusual activity and did report it.
But they have no idea what happened to that intel, or who received it.
But we know what happened after 7th October: Israel has razed and ethnically cleansed The Gaza Strip, and is now suggesting "voluntary migraation", as if The Gaza Strip is habitable.
