BJM appears to be quite intellectual: a portal into the mind of JM is found and financially exploited.
Sounds clever, eh?
But then it gets a bit mad.
Quite a lot of pro-trans gender enters the film. Two women apparently fall in love with each other, with one wanting to be the man, ie Malkovich. But this is hijacked by a suspecting husband, and there's a pregnancy.
And in one gross scene an old woman proclaims she always wanted to know what it was like to have a penis.
This was in 1999.
Probably went under the radar due to 9/11.
But, it all goes back to Hollywood.
