PHEW! THAT WAS CLOSE FOR MUFC

Southampton did themselves proud. Cracking opening goal. The kind of goal I used to score every week back in t'day.

But MUFC came strong, a different team in the 2nd half, and on the evidence were probably lucky to scrape a 3-2 victory. At times the defence was AWOL or scrappy. And Lukaku looks much more powerful and driven. Pogba should have given Lukaku the chance of a hat-trick. Pogba was anonymous throughout the match and his penalty miss could cause some unnecessary friction in the squad.

But as they say, a win's a win.

A couple of crunch 6-pointers with Arsenal and Chelsea coming up.
