Almost exactly 10 years ago, a senior American diplomat looked out of his office window in Damascus and watched Syrian secret policemen brazenly set up a jihadi recruiting station right opposite the US embassy.
Bashar al-Assad’s regime, which had curried favour with Washington after 9/11 by sharing its files on Islamist radicals with the CIA, now decided it would funnel jihadi volunteers from across the Arab world into Iraq, to bleed the Anglo-American invasion and occupation.

This is reported on FT; World Blog run by Gideon Rachman, who now famously proclaimed, "And now for world government" in the FT a few years ago. Well, we're still waiting...
So apparently simultaneously the Syrian government was recruiting Jihadis to send to Iraq to fight the invasion of Iraq by the USA while at the same time giving information on those same Jihadis to the USA.
Making sense?
No. Me neither.
What does make sense is that the plan for war on seven nations in five years as revealed to General Wesley Clark shortly after the inside job 9/11 became moribund a Faustian pact was reached by the same Axis of Evil that did the inside job 9/11, the USA, Israel and Saudi Arabia, in which extremist Jihadis would be unleashed onto some of the nations named to Clark. This occured in Libya in 2011 and now in Syria.
And assuming this claim is true, perhaps if the USA and its allies had not unnecessarily blamed Iraq for WMD and 9/11 and invaded Iraq then al Qaeda in Iraq would not have had the opportunity to form in Iraq.
Either way, the USA and its allies are guilty of deliberately causing bloody mayhem, from which they seek to profit, by arms sales, land grabs, people grabs, power grabs, all four, or even more!
FT is the premier mouthpiece of the Anglo-American Establishment.
