You may or may not remember Michael Bentine, who starred in The Goons alongside Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Spike Milligan.
That was before I was born. I remember Bentine for Michael Bentine's Potty Time.
Bentine was quite the entertainer.
But did you know he was also British Intelligence (MI9) and SAS?
And not only that, he was also best mates with Quing Charles III!
As Bentine lay dying on his death bed, Charles dropped what he was doing and rushed to be with Bentine just before Bentine died.
Now, that is very suprising behaviour from the usual cold and heartless Charles.
But Charles was not Bentine's only great friend.
Bentine was fascinated by the paranormal, and developed a close relationship with Betty Shine. It was Bentine who encouraged Shine to write.
David Icke credits Shine with being able to connect him to the spirit world which told Icke he was superduper etc.
Icke would go on to claim that saving the world was going to be a "slam dunk".
Er, Dave? We're all still waiting, lad!
So we have: Quing Charles III - Michael Bentine - Betty Shine - David Icke.
