WHY DID THE BRITISH NOT ASSASSINATE HENRY CAREY?

Abraham Lincoln was a student and follower of Henry Carey. The British assassinated Lincoln because Lincoln resisted the British.

 William McKinley also resisted the British by implementing Carey economic policies. He too was assassinated by the British.

So why did the British not try to assassinate Carey?
