In the early 1980's, like in the 1960's, there was a rivalry between Mods and Rockers/Smelvins. Mods were into The Jam, The Specials and wore Harrington Jackets and Brogues. The Smelvins were into Rainbow and wore denim, anything and everything denim, and grew their hair long. I was a Mod, particularly into The Specials because of the anti-racism Two Tone movement they represented.
I can't recall any Smelvin rock band that had anyone of colour.
I disliked every Smelvin song...except this: Surrender, by Rainbow, with its catchy riff.

According to State Department officials, President Trump has recently abandoned his desire to “get out” of Syria and bring US troops home. He has signed a new strategy, which includes new military goals, and eliminates all timelines for removing troops from Syria.
US troops are in several parts of Syria, mostly in the Kurdish-held northeast. An estimated 2,200 US troops are in Syria, though official numbers are being withheld from the public. Special Envoy James Jeffrey said the old plan was to leave Syria by year’s end, but now the troops are committed to an “indefinitely extended” stay.

I've really started to come round to this. I've always thought that the finale was the most glorious piece of music I've ever heard, but never quite understood why. But this interpretation perhaps exposes why: during the first 2 thirds occasionally you will hear flashes of the final third, as if the firebird is awakening and trying out his/her functionality.In other interpretations the conductor does not reveal this as much as is necessary.
