Tony Blair has launched a powerful attack on 'absurd' British Islamists who have nurtured a false 'sense of grievance' that they are being oppressed by Britain and the United States.
In his most outspoken remarks on Islamists, the former Prime Minister warns that Britain is in danger of losing the battle against terrorists unless mainstream society confronts the threat.

I was rather hoping that after a few days away from the stress of being PM Blair may have calmed down a bit and could begin to talk some sense.
Not so.
Does he not know that it is we, "Great" Britain with the USA, who have been in the Middle East for a century, redrawing borders and countries, imposing puppet kings and overthrowing troublesome leaders, using gas and then DU and then carpet bombing Iraq? And it is "Great" Britain who allowed mass immigration of Jews into Palestine, despite the rioting and threats of war, after stabbing the Palestinians in the back at Versailles and San Remo.
The guy is a total idiot and this kind of talk exemplifies why he has been chosen as the Middle East envoy. The people there cannot trust a little imperialist like him.
And we do want to confront the threat of terrorism, but peacefully. We want a full and independent inquiry to understand how and why some guys from Leeds blew themselves and over fifty others up in London two years ago. We want to know all about "The Covenant of Security". Blair apparently wants confrontation rather than comprehension, which can only exacerbate the situation further (which certain people desperately want).
What was it he said? "We must not let the terrorists change our way of life".
Go watch "Taking Liberties", Tony Baloney!
