They really don't care. They don't look because they don't want to know. And when they are told then they still don't want to know, or help, and in some cases even ostracise you.
This should be corrected to be more accurate:
They really don't care. They don't look because they don't want to know. And when they are told then they still don't want to know, or help, and in one particular case, surprisingly and extremely disappointingly ostracise you.
I have corrected this because this is not a frequent occurrence, but when it does happen it can be demoralising.
