DURING WW1 WHY DID GREAT BRITAIN NOT MAKE ANY PEACE OFFERS NOR ACCEPT ANY PEACE OFFERS?

Because Great Britain engineered the war in the first place!!

Why?

Because the other major powers were all co-operating and building economies to rival that of Great Britain.

So Great Britain unleashed hell to destroy them all: war on the European continent; revolution in Russia.

The aim was a world government to be controlled by Great Britain with the USA as muscle to enforce Great Britain's will.

But the USA voted to stay out of that world government, which became not as effective as it was expected to be.

But Great Britain could not make any peace offers nor accept any until the other major powers were guaranteed to be destroyed or offer no resistance.

Those other major powers were: Germany; Russia; Austria-Hungary; France.

The USA could not be destroyed because it was to be the enforcer.

But perhaps the saddest main consequence of this was The Battle of the Somme. General Rawlinson actually flew over the German lines and noted that the German lines had been reinforced in anticipation of his attack. Result? 600,000 dead. AND FOR NO TERRITORY GAINED!!

And this due to the British monarchy who told Germany that Great Britain would not become involved in any war on the continent having enjoyed decades of 'splendid isolation' to focus on the British Empire.
