Russia invaded Ukraine to implement Minsk II which Zelensky promised the Ukrainians he would do as President. But NATO had a word or 2 with Zelensky and he reneged on that promise. The invasion provoked many sanctions on Russia (which conveniently coincided with the Great Reset agenda). So the UK and EU cannot buy Russian energy. But we can buy American energy. And as Neil points out here, there is an enormous carbon foorprint involved in transporting American LNG all the way across the Atlantic. While Rashid Sanook is on a jolly in Sharm el-Sheikhdown discussing...(checks notes)...er, reducing carbon footprints.
My solution would be: 1. no fracking in UK; 2. stop war in Ukraine, implement Minsk II, and get back to normal(ish) relations with Russia. Otherwise many are going to die from freezing and starvation. But that's what the WEF want.
UK political elite, united in its opposition to fracking gas in UK, relishes imminent new deal with USA which involves massive import of fracking gas from America, at huge expense in terms of dollar cost, CO2 LNG transport footprint and balance of payments deficit.
