I can only speak from viewing UK TV. Sky News is reporting on little else but Sandy, while the BBC is covering other news. Some parts of New York are flooded, a few people have died, a few feet of snow in the hills, and millions without power.
But there are no accusations being made over lack or warnings or unpreparedness...not yet anyway.
But there are also no songs of praise either...not yet anyway.
Perhaps it is too early for this.
But so far Sandy has been bad, but it could have been worse. The media were hyping it up yesterday.
But one thing has disappeared from the TV news; Jimmy Savile.
On BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday the Your Call debate with Nicky Campbell was on Savile and I detected the BBC were trying to put a few spins on the story, such as it is now getting boring having dominated the news for weeks now, and allegations of sexual abuse everywhere make all men look bad, etc. So to see that 'Savile' has now disappeared from the headlines should not come as a surprise, considering that our leaders are kiddie-fiddlers and that an MP alleged the existence of a paedophile ring in Downing Street!
