I have noticed that nearly all articles I have read about that incident accusing Obama have not mentioned the film that caused outrage across the Arab world, as if it had never happened. Several have stated that Ambassador Stevens had written on the growth of al Qaeda and affiliates in Libya. Perhaps he was threatening to go public on this and was silenced but a smokescreen was required hence the film to provoke riots and an attack that killed Stevens.

Skousen suggested something slightly different in that the weapons that were stored in the Bengahzi compound that had been confiscated from the Libyan government were being shipped to Syria and Ambassador Stevens may, repeat may, have registered some protest over this. So Stevens was killed but a hastily put together anti-Islam film was required to create riots and protests that could be used to create violence. Skousen also stated that a protection team did go AWOL and left Stevens exposed.
So Mormon Skousen nearly agrees with Tarpley on everything except that it was an inside job by what Tarpley calls The CIA Mormon Mafia.
A CBS News timeline has revealed that Benghazi was possibly an inside job. Their timeline reveals that a gate that should have been locked may have been opened.
Around 9:00 p.m. (3 p.m. ET): ...At this time, there are five diplomatic security agents (DS) on site - three based in Benghazi and two traveling with Stevens. According to a U.S. State Department account given Oct. 9 there was "nothing unusual outside of the gates. "
9:40 p.m. (3:40 p.m. ET): Gunfire and an explosion are heard. A TOC agent sees dozens of armed people over security camera flowing through a pedestrian gate at the compound's main entrance. It is not clear how the gate was opened.

From this we can take that in less than 40 minutes an armed gang had somehow opened a gate that allowed them to enter the compound.
Question : How did the armed gang get through that gate so quietly, quickly and easily? (I assume the gate is filmed every second and that this video is stored safely somewhere)
The CBS timeline states that Stevens was in Building C. All but one of the Diplomatic Security team left to get tactical gear from Building B. The one DS who stayed with Stevens, Strickland, led Stevens and Smith to a safe haven within Building C, but left them for no given reason, other than possibly because the building was on fire and filled with too much smoke. This was the last time Stevens was seen alive, according to this CBS timeline (read events at 10pm).
Question : Why did Strickland leave Stevens and Smith in Building C when the armed gang were in the building and it was on fire?
So from the CBS News timeline it would appear that Stevens was last seen alive at around 10pm when the DS team had abandoned him in Building C when it was known that that building the armed gang had entered that building and had set it on fire. The DS team returned in an armored vehicle, searched Building C and found Smith's body but not Stevens'. This all happened in about the space of 30 to 40 minutes, starting from the earliest 9 40 pm.
So far from there being a "stand down", this timeline looks like Stevens was abandoned in Building C for as yet unknown reasons when it was known that the armed gang, that had somehow got through the gate, were in the building and had set it on fire.
Hmm.
However, Obama is stalling on answering questions. And it is now 7 weeks since the incident, giving plenty of time to come with a cover story. And the incident was undeniably used by Romney supporters to smear Obama.
It is looking like it will be blamed on "shit happens".
But the anti-Islam film, Obama's current stalling, the stand down accusations...
It doesn't smell of being America's finest hour, does it?
