I bought Peter Jackson's They Shall Not Grow Old yesterday, and have already watched it three times.
If you have not seen it yet then do so asap.
It's basically Oh! What a Lovely War: same songs but with original black and white footage of the troops and the devastation restored to colour, with soldiers narrating recalling events, bringing the horror and futility of WW1 back to life.
As a documentary on the war and the ordinary men who fought it is very good, but there is no analysis of why it all happened, so 9/10.
