Unsurprisingly, as salesman for the military-industrial-banking complex, Trump suggested to Kurz that Austria increase military spending, i.e. buy more U S weapons.
Austria is neutral and is not even a member of NATO.
Kurz later told Austrian media ORF:
"We are taking our own decisions when it comes to how we spend our budget," Kurz said.
"We argued that we instead prefer to spend more money on education, research, development, and internal security", he added.
