So Russia only gave Syria their air defence system after years of allowing Israel do whatever Israel wanted in Syria.
But just the other day Israel was able to attack Syria near the capital Damascus and killed 4, including a baby.
Not only that.
A missile fired by that Russian air defence system completely missed its target and landed in Cyprus!
