WOLFOWITZ DEMANDS THAT ANNAN RESIGN TO ALLOW MILITARY ACTION ON SYRIA

Well. Well. Well.

The man himself, Paul Wolfowitz, has written in The Washington Post today that Kofi Annan should resign to allow military action on Syria, and that Obama also explain why the USA should not be bombing Syria this very day.
The Post’s Jim Hoagland reported on this page last month that a European diplomat told him: “Kofi will not go on forever providing cover for others. . . . His resignation would allow the world to see very clearly what Russia is doing — and what the United States is not doing — that makes them both complicit in the killing of a nation. But he also knows resignation is a gun with only one bullet.”

Annan should fire that bullet and stop providing the United States and other self-described “friends of Syria” with excuses for inaction. But whether or not he does, the United States and others cannot blame their failure on Annan. It is long past time to confront the real policy choices.

No one is arguing for military intervention on the order of Afghanistan or Iraq. But the Obama administration should explain why Washington should not be playing an overt, forceful role in organizing and arming the Syrian opposition and exploring with Turkey a coalition of countries to create sanctuaries along the Syrian border, where the opposition could regroup and organize. It should also consider under what circumstances an intervention like the one in Libya might be possible, desirable or both.

To many Wolfowitz is THE man behind this current series of wars in North Africa and the Middle East. It was he who spoke to General Wesley Clark in 1991 telling Clark that the USA had 5 to 10 years to "clean up those old Soviet client regimes", specifically naming Iraq, Iran and Syria. Shortly after 9/11 the EIR/LPAC group identified The Wolfowitz Cabal who had written warmongering documents just a few years before 9/11, such as A Clean Break and Rebuilding America's Defenses, and on 9/11 found themselves in very powerful and influential positions to implement their warmongering plans.

This shows the ever increasing frustration and desperation of the warmongers. They, or rather their dupes, have tried to engineer events that Annan could use to declare Syria in violation of his plan and/or for NATO to cite Article 5 of The Washington Treaty; Houla, Qubair, the Turkish jet shot down in Syrian air space. All these attempts have failed with a big F.
