This reminds me of that scene in Schindler's List in which the slave labour camp inmates were accused of stealing something (a chicken was it?), and the commandant begins to shoot prisoners until he finds out who committed the crime. After shooting a couple of prisoners a kid steps forward and tells the commandant he knows who did it. The commandant asks, "who?". And the kid points to the last man the commandant had shot dead.
