THOUGHT FOR T'DAY ON RUSSIA'S INTERVENTION IN SYRIA

The Dutch Safety Board is expected to release its final report on MH17 on 13th October 2105. That's in less than 2 weeks. The DSB report is expected to claim that a BUK missile brought down MH17.

But by then Russia could well have built up a significant body count of Islamic State and other terrorists in Syria.

So by 13th October the international standing of Russia could be very high, and thus any criticism of Russia in the DSB report minimised.

I'm just wondering why Russia is overtly bombing Syria now, and not last year, or the year before.

Why now?

Maybe Assad just realised he was in a bit of a pickle, and the timing merely coincidental...
