IMMHO Beethoven's 6th Symphony is the pinnacle of music.
But then I learned of Shostakovich: persecuted by Stalin before WW2; then fought the Nazis as a fireman in the Nazi Siege of Leningrad; then persecuted by Stalin again.
Then Stalin died and Shostakovich wrote his magnificent 10th symphony.
Anyhoo, here is a brilliant performance of Beethoven 6th symphony, by The Vienna Philharmonic.
Shostakovich 7th symphony portrayed the Nazis in Operation Barbarossa as a bunch of murdering clowns.
I haven't heard the Vienna Philharmnic play Shostakovich Symphony 10.
Just like I haven't heard the Ickes Icke-splain how they got 2020 so tragically wrong.
