During the mid-1970s David Bowie made some outrageous statements, praising Hitler and calling for an extreme fascist dictatorship in the UK. It has been suggested in DID BOWIE SEEK REDEMPTION FOR HIS NASTY NAZISM? that Bowie showed some remorse for his pro-Nazi statements in his song Word on a Wing and sought some kind of redemption.
I now present to you one of the cheeziest Christmas duets: Bowie and Bing Crosby singing The Little Drummer Boy in 1977...one year after his famous Thin White Duke alter ego and the quasi-fascist Station to Station album.
Did Bowie deserve redemption for his pro-Hitler/fascist statements?
Let's see:
1. Ashes to Ashes;
2. Fashion;
3. Under Pressure;
4. China Girl;
5. Dancing in the Street.
He did not feature in Let Them Know It's Christmas in 1984, but did appear in Live Aid 1985, but did not appear in the Free Nelson Mandela concert in 1988 (though many who appeared in Live Aid in 1985 did).
If I was god I would recognise his attempt at redemption...but I could not redeem him.
Why?
Because in a cocaine-induced psychosis he praised Hitler and demanded an extreme fascist dictatorship in the UK!!!
FUCK THAT!!
It is one thing to take cocaine in small doses and/or recreationally, i.e. in clubs, but it is totally another thing to sniff all the cocaine in the universe, believing in your invincibility due to your fame from writing pro-homosexual songs, and then demand praise Hitler and demand fascism!!
A FUCKING MASSIVE FAIL!!
It really is that simple.
