It is odd that Mr. Trump, who demanded proof on paper that President Obama was born in the United States, would expect voters to take on faith his own claims about his commercial successes, his dealings with business partners, what he gives to charity and other financial matters that could conflict with his duties if elected president. His tax returns are the only documents that can conclusively corroborate or disprove his claims and allay concerns about conflicts of interest.

Mr. Trump has offered nothing but fallacious excuses for keeping his returns secret. Initially, he said he would not release returns until the Internal Revenue Service completed an ongoing audit; the agency said there’s no rule stopping disclosure during an audit. Recently, one of his sons said the returns are so long and complex that people would ask too many questions if they were allowed to see them. None of these claims make sense. Here are some plausible explanations for Mr. Trump’s refusal:

He is obviously hiding something.

But what?

This all adds to the question: can Trump be trusted?

The obvious answer is no.

He has said he opposed the war on Iraq in 2003, but he only started to oppose it in 2004 when it had gone all wrong.

He has said he opposed the war on Libya in 2011, but he is on Youtube demanding war on Libya before the war started.

He rants against globalism and bad trade deals that allow American corporations to ship their jobs overseas where employment laws are non-existent resulting in sweatshops, yet he and his daughter Ivanka have used cheap foreign sweatshop (possibly child) labour, notably in China but all over the world, for at least a decade.

He is the product of the extreme Rightist Zionist/CIA/FBI/mob network that assassinates Presidents and procures children for the CIA to abuse. His connections to the mob are deep, very deep, and he actually bought a CIA/mob money laundering front called Resorts International, and when that went bankrupt Trump was somehow saved from personal bankruptcy owing hundreds of millions (the resulting casino was fined $10 million last year for money laundering).

He has stated that he is neutral on the Israel-Palestine conflict, yet he has also stated many more times that nobody is more pro-Israel than he is.

And now, after demanding that Obama release his long form birth certificate, he refuses to release his tax returns claiming some bullshit reason.

Trust Trump?
