Don Coffey
Loads of videos from the driver's seat of train journeys from my part of the world.
Makes you wish you were a trainspotter.
Train scheduling is a fascinating subject. It's not just the rolling stock, which also has to be scheduled for maintenance and at a very limited number of depots, the crews also have to be scheduled to board at station X so they can disembark at station Y so they can crew the return trains to return at station X to be home in time for tea. And there's the peak demand periods: where do unused carriages stay outside of peak demand periods? And how do they get there?
Don Coffey! We salute you!
PS flight scheduling is even more of a fascinating subject, because the planes cost so much that the flight companies have to get as much out of them as possible, but they also need maintenance, and crews, and all the time competing for slots at airports around the world.
