That's what happened. By late 1915/early 1916 there was stalemate. Germany offered peace and return to the pe-war borders. But the Zionists persuaded Great Britain to continue the fighting because the Zionists could get the USA into the war on the side of the British. But there was a catch: in return the Zionists wanted Palestine as a homeland for Jews.
So what happened?
Great Britain carried on fighting. The Zionists got the USA into the war in April 1917. On 2nd November 1917 Great Britain issued the diabolical Balfour Declaration. After the war Great Britain was given the mandate for Palestine and encouraged mass Jewish immigration into Palestine. Over the next 2 decades the Zionists created the Nazis and collaborated with them to scare and transfer German Jews to Palestine. Before WW2 the British brutally put down a Palestinian revolution against Zionist colonisation of Palestine. And after WW2 the British stood aside and in some cases assisted the Zionists take full control of Palestine through genocide, terror and rape.
