According to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Trump lured Soleimani to his death in Iraq. Trump requested that Soleimani be involved in peace talks and Soleimani was in Baghdad to give Iran's response to the peace talks.
Trump then blew Soleimani to pieces, against the advice of his military.
This provoked Iran into a response, albeit resulting in no U S casualties because Iran gave advance warning to Iraq of the missile attack to avoid killing any U S military personnel.
But it looks like Iran air defences were on full alert expecting a response from the USA to Iran's volley of missiles in retaliation, and those air defences could have somehow identified PS752 as a threat from the USA and shot it down.
But this would not have happened if Trump had not lured Soleimani to his death and assassinated Soleimani to provoke Iran. Iran would then have not attacked American bases in Iraq, and expecting an attack by America in response would not have shot down PS752 accidentally.
If indeed PS752 was shot down by Iran air defences.
