Instead they, the rightists, are defending Trump.
Look, it's obvious Trump sacked Comey because Comey was too independent on "the Russia thing" as Trump referred to it.
Something went on between the Trump campaign and Russia. That's why Trump demanded Comey's loyalty (but Comey didn't give it) and why Trump asked Comey to drop any further investigation into Flynn (asked in that "Who will rid me of this troublesome priest?" kind of way).
And all the while the Russia circus distracts from Trump's foreign policy of continuity-of-agenda: Iran; Pivot to Asia; bomb, bomb, bomb civilians and invade.
Here's Paul Ryan:
“The president’s new at this. He’s new to government. So, he probably wasn’t steeped in the long-running protocols that establish the relationships between [the Department of Justice], the FBI and White Houses. He’s just new to this,” Ryan said.
