This is about American imperialism.
Apparently the people of Vietnam were not allowed to decide how to live their lives because the USA, and France as the former occupying power, wouldn't let them.
Nineteen years old.
What would be the point of teaching them algebra, or statistics, or geometry, if all that society did was send them to war to stop other people, living thousands of miles away, living how they wanted to live?
But then I suppose war could be a scenario to advance the beauty of mathematics, even if it became the mathematics of death rather than life...
But, hey!
Who gives a fuck, right?!
