UN MISSION IN SYRIA SAYS SYRIAN GOVERNMENT BASICALLY TOLD THE TRUTH

A few days ago 'activists' said that the Syrian government had murdered in cold blood approximately 200 civilians in Tremseh. Hasty Hague and Lillary immediately jumped on this and demanded all sorts of retribution against Syria. But the Syrian government denied the allegation and said that it was fighting against armed terrorists who had made the village a base for their terrorist activities, and the villagers had requested the military action because they were sick of the US-sponsored terrorist scum.

Guess what?

THE UN OBSERVERS SAY THAT IT LOOKS LIKE THAT IS WHAT BASICALLY HAPPENED!
The Syrian military attack on Tremseh mainly targeted guerrilla forces and their supporters, the United Nations stated hours after its observers entered the battered town.
[source : Syria troops targeted opposition fighters in Tremseh, says UN, The Guardian, http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jul/15/syria-troops-fighters-tremseh-un, 15/07/2012]

But The Guardian still tries to put a spin on it by stating that many of the dead were fighting-age males, implying that Assad went on some kind of Herod-esque killing spree for the fun of it.
Opposition sources in Hama, around 20 miles south-east of Tremseh say they have compiled a list of 103 fatalities, all of whom are male — a fact that adds weight to the view that fighting-aged males were at least partly targeted during the assault, which has drawn international condemnation.

But the fact that many of the dead are fighting-age males reinforces the Syrian government narrative, doesn't it?
