HOW TO TORPEDO PEACE TALKS

At the moment the Syrian rebels are only being urged to attend peace talks in Geneva.

Only urged?

Yes. Urged.

Mr Hague's US counterpart John Kerry said he believed and hoped the meeting would go ahead as planned but that Western countries could not control whether all parties would attend.

There is, of course, a blindingly obvious way that Western countries could force the Syrian rebels to attend Geneva II; threaten to cut off all aid if they do not go!

As yet, I am unaware of any such a threat.

I therefore conclude that these peace talks are being torpedoed...AGAIN! Particularly when The Morally Bankrupt Friends of Syria, sponsors of the rebels, whatever their shade of Jihad, agree that Assad has to go.

...Mr Hague reaffirmed the view of the Friends of Syria group - Britain, Egypt, France, Germany, Jordan, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States - that Geneva II must be about a political transition in Syria away from the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Any transitional government could only be agreed with the consent of the SNC, and therefore Mr Assad would play no role in it, Mr Hague added.

Peace talks over Syria were torpedoed by William Jihadi Hague earlier this year when the EU embargo on arms to Syria expired and Jihadi demanded that it not be re-implemented, even though everyone else in the EU believed that it should be! This led to the rebels expecting lorry load after lorry load of weapons and equipment which they believed would lead to their victory. However, it hasn't turned out that way. Instead the rebels face total annihilation. They are fighting amongst themselves while the Syrian Arab Army wins victory after victory.
